What is placenta encapsulation? It's when your placenta is processed into capsules that you can ingest. The placenta has beneficial nutrients like vitamins B6 and B12, iron, and potassium.
Our full-service birth clients can add placenta encapsulation and placenta printing to their package for additional fees.
If you choose placenta encapsulation, one of our doulas will take your placenta right after birth and process it so you can ingest it in capsule form. We use food-grade ingredients and equipment to dehydrate your placenta, grind it into a powder, and insert it into size 00 gelatin capsules. Your package will also include an alcohol-based tincture containing an extract of your placenta’s nutrients.
Please notify us before your birth that you'd like us to encapsulate your placenta. Your capsules and tincture will be stored in glass containers; the capsules should be refrigerated at home. Additional $300
Placenta Printing: If you'd like, we can also do a placenta print before the processing. One of our doulas will spread out your placenta, paint it with food-safe colors you request, and imprint the painted placenta onto high quality paper. Your placenta will be fully rinsed clean before being processed into capsules. Additional $25
