12-Month Doula Mentorship

Join the only mentorship program designed specifically for aspiring doulas within the greater Sacramento and Placer County birth community. Through 12 months of personalized mentorship, you’ll receive group and 1:1 support, hands-on experience, and a Rebecca Rose Doulas Mentorship Certification upon completion. You will be trained, nurtured, and empowered by Rebecca Rose Doulas to thrive as both a birth and postpartum doula.

Program Details:

  • Cohorts launch every 3 months

  • Class size limited to 5 students per month for individualized attention

  • $400/month or $4,800/year

  • Mentorship includes group sessions, one-on-one meetings, provider field trips, and shadowing opportunities

Program Benefits

  • Shadowing Opportunities: Gain exclusive access to shadow Becca on intake calls, client meetings, classes, and consultations.

  • Promotion as 'Doulas in Training': You will be promoted under the RRDS brand as part of the "Doulas in Training" program, helping you build visibility and credibility within the local birth community.

  • Support for Certification Births: Receive direct support from Becca and the team in securing and attending your 3 certifying births. This ensures you complete your certification requirements with real-world experience. NOT GUARANTEED.

  • Field Trips: Develop professional relationships with community providers, including midwives, hospitals, IBCLCs, and more.

12-Month Mentorship Program Overview

Month-by-Month Curriculum Guide

Each month builds upon key doula skills, from foundational knowledge to advanced community connections. You’ll gain practical experience through field trips to local providers and hospitals, develop your own network, and feel confident working with clients.

Month 1: Introduction to Birth & Postpartum Doula Work

  • What is a Birth and Postpartum Doula?

  • Supporting clients in the first trimester

  • Building confidence and self-awareness

  • Guidance on who and where to train through and certify per your goals and vaules

Field Trips: Introductory visits to doula schools, local hospitals, birthing centers, and midwives.

Month 2: Client & Self-Education (The 4 P’s of Birth)

  • The 4 P’s of Birth and more

  • Birth options, interventions, and creating birth plans

  • Understanding hospital policies vs. evidence based practices

Field Trips: Meet with IBCLCs, birth educators, and pelvic floor therapists.

Month 3: Preparing for the Final Weeks & Baby’s Arrival

  • Supporting clients during the third trimester

  • Creating postpartum plans and baby prep checklists

  • Tools for managing emotional & physical changes before birth

Field Trips: Partner visits with mental health therapists and acupuncturists.

Month 4-6: Doula Skills Development & Community Engagement

  • Refining your doula skills with hands-on practice

  • Building relationships with pediatricians, OB/GYNs, and birth centers

  • How to prepare for and debrief after births

Field Trips: Pediatric dentists, IBCLCs, and holistic providers

Month 7-9: Deepening Birth & Postpartum Support Knowledge

  • Managing complex birth situations and emergency interventions

  • Postpartum mental health care and trauma-informed support

  • Breastfeeding support: latch techniques, pumping, and SNS setup

Field Trips: Meet hospital lactation consultants and postpartum care providers.

Month 10-12: Launching Your Doula Career

  • How to create a successful doula business

  • Marketing yourself and building a client base

  • Managing contracts, payments, and business logistics

Graduation: Receive your certification and join the Rebecca Rose Doula network!

  1. Do I need prior doula experience?
    No! All you need is passion and curiosity—we’ll guide you through the rest.

  2. How are the classes structured?
    You’ll meet once a week 2 hrs in person for group sessions and one-on-one sessions on zoom as needed. The program also includes field trips and occasional weekend workshops.

  3. Can I join if I miss a cohort start date?
    Yes! A new cohort starts every 3 months, so you’ll have the opportunity to join soon.

  4. Is there a certification?
    Yes! Graduates will receive a Rebecca Rose Doulas Mentorship Certification after successfully completing the program.
